In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts: Close Encounters with Addiction by Gabor MatéMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Excellent read. Eye-opening insights in how we get hijacked into addictions. Dr Gabor explains very clearly his theory, proven research that he has done over years. He describes how himself was an example of falling pray to this psychological issues that enslaves our mind. I identify pretty much with his subjects. This book is highly recommended to people who (like me) doesn't know why we act the way we do when we develop certain traits in a such a irrational way that we normally cannot see or realize, until somebody points it out for us, or when we hit bottom (so to speak) and gets in trouble with the law. This review is of the audiobook version, which, by the way, is narrated by Dr Maté's son.
